There’s a reason this matters so much to me. My paintings have always been about women refusing to shrink – and over time I realised I wanted to carry that beyond the canvas. Too many brilliant women are made to feel they should stay small, and I don't want you to be one of them.

I’m Karen – an artist who built her art career after a 25-year break from painting.
When I started, I didn’t have contacts, training, or a clue how the art world worked. I did what everyone else was doing – copying captions, chasing the wrong open calls, trying to look like a ‘proper’ artist. It got me nowhere – and if you’re doing the same, you’ll know how that feels.
So I built my own approach – a framework I still use today; the system that turned painting into a career. And it changed everything.
Since then, my work’s won awards, been featured in major press, and it sells because I’ve learnt how to make people want it.
